The information on this page is supplementary material for the publication:

Hamann, A., Smets, P., Aitken, S. N. and Yanchuk, A. D. 2005. An ecogeographic framework for in situ conservation of forest trees in British Columbia. Can. J. For. Res. 35:2553-2561.

Range maps and conservation status of BC tree species

    Extended Table 1.

In-situ protection of all species-zone combinations, sorted by increasing relative coverage (% of total of this species-zone combination). The absolute coverage (cumulative cover [ha] in protected areas) is also given. The first 25 potential protected areas for each combination are listed by decreasing expected population size.

This table can be viewed online in html or downloaded as a PDF (132KB) or xls (99KB) file.

    Extended Table 2.

Alphabetical list of protected areas in British Columbia, their importance rank as genetic reserve (1=most, 839=least important), and populations of tree species that they contain with an expected cumulative cover >2.5 ha.

This table can be viewed online in html or downloaded as a PDF (132KB) or xls (99KB) file.

    Species summaries

The in situ conservation status for tree species populations in British Columbia including the species range, abundance, protected percentage and redundancy of protection. Species range maps in ESRI shape format can be obtained from Andreas Hamann.
